"The 'me' that is responsible is the thing that calculates, and no it could not have ended up any differently, but it could behave differently under different circumstances." So if I understand you correctly, you believe or act as if you have a choice, but it is an illusion, because...

  • Re: Will and Determinism

I may have misunderstood of course, but I don't think that saying "everything behaves according to its properties" denies or invalidates free will, since "free will" may just be one of the "properties" of human beings. And, of course, things in aggregation certainly...

  • A truly spectacular youtube rant...

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=RnXkfs8Zgbo "Dude, I just watched your Free-will series and you did nothing but posture yourself as morally superior to determinists. • Wildest 'Free Will' response ever...

from here: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=RX-Iq9a3uwA Seems like a strong argument against your complaint about determinism is that the concept of "life" could just be a human abstraction and that nothing is "alive" in any real sense. my response: aaa! zombie typing! aaaaaa!

normaltim: So, I watched the videos and I'm going to post some thoughts I took notes but I'm not going to put them all down but let me know if I'm on to what you're saying. -Humans can create abstract concepts about the real world -Humans can come up with conceptual understanding of reality...
