    1118 Philanthropy, distracting sibilance

I loved this podcast; i really connected with it and found it quite touching. I had no idea how interesting the gates foundation is and what an interesting place it holds in history. The message was quite powerful and I think the experience Stef brought to it was really touching.

I listened to it on headphones and I found the sibilance to be painful in my ears. I felt this distracted from the content and wanted to bring it up as a way to improve the communication with this podcast. Is it easy to run it through a high cut filter or something?

    Just a thought.

I'd be happy to - what is that? Is there a way to do that in Audacity?

if you can EQ the recording, the sibilance is in the high end, so finding a range on the EQ and turning it way down will do it. Since the rest of your vocal range is well outside that sibilance range, it should affect the quality of the rest of the recording. wikipedia says it should be around 8-10 kHz on the EQ. Does this make sense? I think the use of a compressor in the high end will do the trick as well.
