    Animals!

So I told my finacee that I can't sign petitions anymore asking for new laws protecting wildlife, the environment, etc.

However, I do want to donate to wildlife sanctuaries and such.

She took it all right. It seems that people visibly relax when you tell them you give to charity; on top of taxes no less.

You guys have any reccomendations for wildlife sanctuaries?

I'm sorry, but I don't know of any private ones...

The Nature Conservancy might be a good place to start looking. With all the caveats that go along with environmental organizations, the NC is primarily funded by private donations and focuses on voluntary methods of protecting land.

Also try PERC for a wealth of information on free-market environmentalism in general - tons of good leads and papers there.
