It's come to my attention that some members of this board believe, or at least suspect, that 9/11 was an inside job.  When I first discovered this claim and looked at the evidence for it, I, too, was persuaded to the point where I thought it might actually be true.  However, in searching for counter-arguments I found a Youtube account with videos debunking EVERY claim made by the 9/11 Truthers.  The reality is that it's a few coincidences and a lot of lies.  Check it out.

 I'm going to check this link, but I wanted to ask you something. How would it affect your life if you found out that elements inside the goverment aided the events on 9/11? What if these elements were as high as in the pentagon or the white house?

I am convinced (although open to debate) about the pentagon not having been hit by a jet liner. When I learned about this I felt I had the truth and it made me powerful as I thought I had a weapon against the government. I had something to whine about.

Here I learned it's a waste of time.

What is not a waste is learning about people, their motivations and their believes. So, I ask again; what would it mean for you if it was true that 911 was an inside job?

Hey Victor, thanks for the reply.  In answer to your question, I honestly don't think I would be shocked or my view of the world would greatly change if 9/11 turned out to be an inside job.  I think the government and most politicians are basically corrupt, and that many neocons wouldn't mind participating in a terrorist attack for their benefit if they knew they could get away with it.  The thing is, it wouldn't make any sense.  It's not difficult to get Americans to support a foreign war and it would be way too risky to try to stage something like 9/11.  I think it's extremely important to separate the truth from the non-truth, even if it seems like I'm defending the government.  So that's the reason I posted this.

In the interest of truth, remember that the war is not against foreing citizens, but local ones. 911 is the pretext to war your own country. Have you heard about Shock therapy?

I don't think that they planned it or staget the events. But I have a strong argument that elements in the government knew of and allowed to some extent the events. Plus the weak and inefective response they came up with was sort of clowny.

For me that is just another reason why giving this sort of power to people is just suicidal, and it would sort of make the same effect if it all turned out to be just laziness or negligence.

I'll go and watch the video and then, if you like, we can debate the points. But I must confess, I rather you told me about your experience debating this with people who are convinced that it was an inside job.

Just look at Al Gore, he has got everyone scared out of thier wits with out killing a single person and chances are that he is going to end up getting anything he wants out of it.

Its just about the perfect combination of fear and feeling of moral elitism.

We're not in disagreeance.  I bet the government got a huge boner on 9/11 and what it could do for its expansion of power.  Since you asked, my experience with most people who believe it was an inside job is that they are ironically not interested in evidence to the contrary.  I guess part of the reason that I think it's so important to determine what's true and what's not is that I have a friend who has bipolar disorder and went off the deep end after seeing the Zeitgeist movie.  He's been an emotional wreck ever since.  But I also want to reiterate that I don't have any qualms about looking at the situation objectively, I'm only interested in the truth.  I don't think that this particular claim holds water.

 I'm sorry to hear about your friend. \i remember there was something that hung on me after I saw that movie. How do you think your friend would feel if he listened to On Truth?

Perhaps we should make On Truth or a condenced version of it into a web-movie. And it should be a positive movie. We should hear some good news for a change. The moment has come for rationality, the age of reason begins here; stuff like that.

But this is not the post for that.

Lest talk about the Truth movement. They have a movement, it's growing ahd they have momentum and energy. What do they have that could be integrated here as a positive thing?
