This was shown in my 'Problem of God' class today. 

The guy with the accent is Ken Ham, who has (I believe) brought the world the wonder of the Creation Museum - which I'm sure you all know of. 

Afterwards my professor told the class that what Ken Ham was arguing was that if you didn't have the bible there would be no basis for morality.  While she doesn't believe this, when she raised the point I felt incredibly sad.

Then a different kid in my class said that you could get morality from alternative sources... evolutionary sources or from your parents.  This made me even more sad, as I am just beginning to realize the extent to which my parents don't understand this particular topic. 

It's one of two Theology requirements at my university.  It's really interesting to see people who have been brought up religously and never exposed to any sort of ideological challenge presented with arguments to counter the existence of God.

 The professor does a really fair job of presenting both sides of the coin in the hope that students will be better able to make up their own minds.

The class just goes through things like arguments for and against the existence of God, and gives readings from theists and atheists alike.

I felt incredibly disgusted watching it in class.  While there may be lots of religious folk in this class of mine, thankfully, there are no biblical literalists.

This is truly child abuse in one of it's worst forms. How could any parent actually sit by and allow their children to absorb this crap? I suppose one generation of brain-washed fundis can only raise another generation of brainwashed fundis. It's truly sad. What ever happened to children making up their own mind on how to live their life? These children say that they believe in this, but they truly have no idea what it is that they believe at this point in their lives. These parents are putting a cap on their mindset for the rest of their lives. All I can say is that I hope most of those children grow up to be open minded instead of falling totally victim to the brainwashing that these kinds of things do. It really makes me very angry to hear those people say that the public schools and science and what not have a biased towards evolution. What about the HUGE and obvious bias that the church would have to anything that contradicts the bible? Oh right, but that doesn't matter. Silly me.
