Re: 1126 The Childhood Origins of World War II and the Holocaust

I was so scared of this thread that I avoided to read your response. But well, the world seems to be a good placeSmile

    blondie:
the same person had upset Greg also

Really? The guy I was talking about is still around as a guest. I know that since he is the only one that I blocked. ( Like people who block their cell phone numbers. I had this one guy who used to do that and since he was the only one I always knew who was calling..). The number of the guy in the chat room always changes though....Anyway, I blew up after four sentences and then buffygeek was so helpfull to explain to me how to block somebody.

    blondie:
so we are already doing some of this

I guess we do! In this context I would like to take the chance and ask you about your board-name. I was tripping a whole movie on it since this was negative nickname in my high school time. Someone would call someone else " blondie " to state the stupidity of that person.

Or are you simply into 70ies music ?Stick out tongue

I actually am called Blondie by most people I know. I am aware of the dumb blonde thing.I don't mind. I am blonde, and I do kinda collect those jokes, (2 blondes walk into a building; you'd think one of them would have seen it!).I actually ended up with it because of a movie. When I was 6 years old, some of our relatives who came to stay with us wanted to call me by  some dimuntives of my name, and I wouldn't stand for it. Actually had a temper tantrum, and said if they were going to call me by THOSE names, I didn't want ANY name. That weekend we went to the drive in movie and saw "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly". In it Clint Eastwood plays "The man with no name", and is called blondie by the other characters. When we left the movie, my Pop turns to me and says, "Girl with no name, we will call you Blondie". Kinda stuck for the rest of my life so far. Except  some of our spanish speaking neighbors call me Guerra (pronounced Wedda), means approximatly the same thing.

Yes, I like their music, I grew up during the punk scene.

Sorry Stef, not called after you, even if I would consider it an honor. I got that name about 2 months before you were born! Nice hair, tho.

Didja know you were teaching an old dog new tricks!?Big Smile

    lol, Stef!

I didn't expect such a great stroy behind your name, blondie! I love that.

What puzzled me was that blondie is considered to be punk music and relistening her I think you could be right. I always thought it was disco. Anyway I just rediscovered it *humming*. We used to listen to this song before we went out every weekend a decade ago. Frist place on our own.Good times.

    Heart of Glass certainly was.

Blondie was punk till they released their Parallel Lines LP and set their sights on more commercial success.

Man! That song was written the year I was born! Still tight! Cool
