Is your friend Pat Buchanan? He often says that Rothbard was a good friend of his. I know someone (not Pat Buchanan) who knew Rothbard btw.

No, Alex Tabarrok - he's a professor of economics at George Mason University - check out Marginal Revolution, a very influential blog.

Looks like more than one person is posting to that blog. Colleagues? Interns? Some of the snippets do look interesting...

His colleague Tyler is very prolific - and check out the site meter (!)...

They've just been asked to write a standard textbook on economics, and Alex asked if I would help out...

just about every Austrian economist who's of age -- and they make up I'd say a large majority of the anarcho-capitalists -- knew or met Murray Rothbard. I believe just about everyone at the Ludwig von Mises Institute knew the guy.

It's really too bad he died at 69 of heart-attack. He could have lived another good 30 years. In general, free market economists tend to live to very old age (see von Mises and von Hayek, who both lived into their 90s). I wish I knew of the LvMI back before 1995, when Murray Rothbard was still alive!
