    In Treatment on HBO

Has anyone brought up this show yet?

The show is about psychology, it follows a therapist's weekly schedule with 4 different patients. On the 5th day he consults another therapist and each week they repeat.

Not only is the format interesting, but the story lines and the acting (especially from the younger actors) is superb. I've been hooked since I started watching and I'm amazed at the balls TV studios and production companies have nowadays. I can't believe there are so many shows with this amount of depth nowadays. This would be right up the alley of any person on this forum I think, especially for people curious or intrigued about the daily life of a therapist in and out of sessions.

I'd really like to know what Stef and Christina think of the show, especially her take on the realism of the psychotherapist.

By your recommendation I've started watching the show and I think it's great. I can't comment on the realism of the therapy but it's definitely entertaining and insightful for me. As far as TV goes, it's at least dealing with content far more important than Entourage or something.

It's funny that you mention Entourage in particular, they're both produced by the same company...

I think a big part of the appeal of the show is that it's so realistic, which is something that I've heard about Entourage too. I think the topic of the show is secondary to the realism... a show doesn't necessarily have to be in line with your values to be interesting as long as it doesn't filter any of the good or bad things about the people it portrays.

I just got a sense that Entourage involved the glorification of stupid things, but I see your point. I didn't watch much of the show and it could have been the case that it was an objective portrayal of a young hollywood actor's life.

What I would have against a show or movie is it skewing reality in favor of something false. Military glorification flicks come to mind.
